Help clean up downtown Norwich

NORWICH – The Norwich Business Improvement District will host its annual “Main Street Sweep” from 9 to 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 17. Meet at East Park Place near the stage at 9 a.m. sharp; any and all volunteers are welcome.

Tasks to be completed: pulling weeds, picking up trash and cigarette butts, sweeping parking lots, and washing windows of vacant storefronts throughout the main business district in downtown Norwich.

At this time the Norwich BID wants to get the word out to group that want to volunteer.

“This is a wonderful opportunity for service organizations, school/church groups, and other members of the community at-large to pitch in and spruce up our downtown before the summer events kick-off the following weekend for Memorial Day,” said BID Executive Director, Ann Coe.

Anyone interested in volunteering can contact the Norwich BID office at 336-1811 for more information; however, volunteers are welcome to simply show up the day of the event.
