NORWICH – The Norwich Centennial Parade Committee has taken strides along side local merchants and business owners to bring the city of Norwich community together in an effort to orchestrate an event to remember for another one hundred years. The parade will be at 7 p.m. on Friday, May 23.

Topping off the event, Norwich Pharmaceuticals has graciously sponsored a fireworks display, which will take to the skies following an evening of entertainment in both East and West Parks. Performing at the celebration, Kaitlyn Jackson of American Idol fame, Leslie Passco and Mike O’Connor and the United Brass Ensemble are among those booked for the stage.

At last count, Mike McCormack of the Centennial Parade Committee indicates that the parade has over 40 participating groups of bands, floats and more are committed.

McCormack, who also is the Chair and Parade Coordinator for the Evening Sun's annual Holiday Parade of Lights for the last four years, says that historically many participants sign up in the last few days.
