Wood stove ignites charges

AFTON An Afton woman has been charged with two count of endangering the welfare of a child after police discovered a potentially dangerous wood stove in her home.



According to the Chenango County Sheriff's Office, Deputy Messina initially responded to complaints of loose dogs around the residence of 21-year-old Jessica Levesque of Afton. During the search for the dogs, the deputy on call heard an infant crying within the home.
