Are you Ready, Patrollers? The DVD Patrol is here and we've got a little bit of everything for this week. The Toddster had the chance to catch a movie with my friends at the Colonia Theatre and they have got a lot of plans coming up but more on that later. Here it is.

New on DVD

The Hangover III- All good things have to come to an end. Alan (Zach Galifinakis) has just suffered a loss in the family so Stu (Ed Helms), Phil (Bradley Cooper), and Doug (Justin Bartha) decide to take him to Las Vegas to cheer him up. As usual, chaos ensues and one of the guys has disappeared again. An angry gangster has kidnapped one of them so now they have to find Mr. Chow (Ken Jeong) to find him. This seems to be so familiar for these guys. Will they be able to find Mr. Chow and get out of Las Vegas? You would think they would learn by now. Catch another bachelor party in "Last Vegas" with Micheal Douglas, Morgan Freeman, Kevin Kline, and Robert Deniro coming into theaters November 1.

Curse of Chucky- You can't get rid of evil for a little while but it always has a way of coming back. Charles "Chucky" Lee Ray (Brad Dourif) was a thief who tried to get away from the Police but was wounded and left for dead during a police shootout. To ensure his survival, Ray was able to transfer his soul into a doll. In this new installment for the series, Nica (Fiona Dourif) was trying to live with the recent death of her Mother. She gets a visit from her niece Alice (Summer Howell). One day Alice receives a package with a good guy doll named "Chucky." Strange events have been going on and she knows it doesn't make sense but she's beginning to think that this creepy little doll might have something to do with it. Is Nica right and what are Chucky's plans for the family? A brand new Chucky collection has just come into stores so you can catch it now.

Also on DVD

Transformers Prime: Predacons Rising- Staying with the evil theme. Optimus Prime and the Autobots were finally able to beat the Decepticons on Earth and find a way to bring their back dead World of Cybertron to life. However, one old enemy has returned for revenge. It seems the World Menace of Unicron has returned using the Body of Megatron as a vessel and wants to take destroy Cybertron. Unicron decides to bring back the remains of the Predacons that are scattered over the Planet for his army. Now outnumbered, Optimus and the Autobots must unite with the living Predaking and the Decepticons if they have any hope of beating them. Will they be able to do it? My sources tell me that a new Transformers series is already in the works. Stay Tuned.

Now in Theaters

Runner Runner- Everyone likes to play video games but when it starts costing you a lot of money, it might be a good idea to stop. In this case, these video games could cost you a lot more than your money. Just ask Richie Furst (Justin Timberlake). Richie was a whiz kid on fianacial matters working for a company that ended up going out of business so he had to find a way to get back on his feet. He worked hard and went back to school. To make money for school, he helped run a website for online gambling. He needed money and bet all his money where he thought it would be easy to make to pay for his tuition. Richie made some bad calls and lost all of it. He did a little digging and learned that the website he was playing actually cheated him out of it. Richie decided to take another chance to confront the man who owned the website named Ivan Block (Ben Affleck). Block saw something in Richie so he decides to hire him on to make sure there's no more cheating. Richie also learns a lot of things about Block that might not be so good. What does he learn and can he get himself out before it's too late?

The Toddster's Take- I love a good game of cat and mouse. When you get someone who's usually good in one medium and might not be another, you often get surprised. Timberlake plays Richie with a real sense of drama and determination that you don't really see in an actor with little experience. He was extremely good in this role. Affleck as Block was terrific. This was a real ride to see what would happen next. This is a good one.

Before we go, the owners of the Colonia Theatre have a lot of plans coming up soon. They showed me some of them and things in the Theater that will be great when they are completed. Stay Tuned to the Evening Sun for what they have coming up. Seeing movies in a place where people care about movies and where you see it is a real benefit for movie goers especially in Chenango County. I'm privileged to know these guys and they continue to help the Toddster do what he does best. Catch you next time.
