One airlifted following tractor trailer rollover
GREENE – At approximately 2:06 p.m. Thursday, the Greene Fire Department responded to the vicinity of 4768 state Highway 41 in the Town of Greene for a tractor trailer rollover with entrapment.
The Smithville Fire Department was requested to close down the road while emergency crews worked to free the trapped patient. Whitney Point’s emergency crews were requested and soon arrived with its heavy rescue equipment. First responders requested LifeNet and after the patient was freed from the vehicle, the patient was transported to Wilson Medical Center in Johnson City via helicopter.
The condition and identity of the patient is currently unknown.
State Highway 41 remained shut down for several hours so that crews could clear the tractor trailer from the scene.
Oxford Memorial Library to screen “The Croods”
