A fatal motor vehicle accident that occurred in Oxford this summer has left a local family with a void and members of surrounding communities have joined forces to help them out. Concert for the Cause has been organized and is set to be held Oct. 11-12 at the Oxford High School.

This two-day event offers entertainment, raffles, food and support for the Clark-Dewey and Redfield families. Concert for the Cause will kick-off at 5 p.m. with a baked ziti dinner in the Oxford High School cafeteria. Donations are currently being collected at the Oxford High School and the dinner's organization is underway.

Gail Murphy, event organizer and director, said she is passionate and excited about the upcoming event. Murphy is the general music teacher at Gibson Elementary School in Norwich and has been recognized within the community for her performances and direction. Murphy decided to organize the event, and has put her time and effort into offering a show for the community that will not only entertain but will positively impact a family going through a time of hardship.

Local individuals and businesses have provided – and are continuing to donate – raffle items for the event. The items will be on display both Friday and Saturday nights and will be dispersed at Saturday's show. Those who enter the raffles need not be present to win.
