Georgetown man airlifted following three-car crash

NORTH NORWICH  A Georgetown man was airlifted via LifeNet helicopter to the Wilson Medical Center, Johnson City, following an accident Wednesday afternoon that involved two pick-up trucks and a tractor trailer on State Route 12 in the Town of North Norwich.

According to authorities, Ralph Marshall, age 51, was driving southbound in his 2011 Chevy pick-up truck when, for unknown reasons, he crossed the center line into the northbound lane, sideswiping a tractor trailer travelling north. Marshall's pick-up then spun into a second pick-up, also travelling north, before veering off the roadway. Marshall was extricated from his vehicle and flown to Wilson Hospital in Johnson City with serious leg and arm injuries.
