SYRACUSE – Norwich junior Kyle Edwards was recently named to the Class B all-state team by the New York State Sportswriters Association.
Edwards helped the Purple Tornado win its fifth sectional title this past March, and was second on the team in scoring at just over 14 points per game. A ninth-team all-state pick, Edwards canned 58 three-pointers on the season – tops among all Chenango County players – and reached a season-high 24 points against Susquehanna Valley. “Kyle made big shots for us in big games, and shot over 50 percent from behind the three-point line,” said Norwich varsity basketball coach Tom Collier. “He also made great strides for us defensively this season, and he became our lock-down defender.”
