Five Norwich junior wrestlers placed at the NYWAY championships held at Cornell University last weekend. Troy Spratley and Ty Rice each came away as New York State champions with Brenden Gager placing second, Ty Rifanburg finished fourth, and Torin Lawrence also placed fourth. Over 700 youth participated in the tournament, and 2012 Cornell University national champions, Kyle Dake, Cam Simaz, and Steve Bosak assisted in running the tournament. Next for the Norwich wrestlers is the Mid Atlantic Wrestling Association Regionals next week in Shamokin, Pa. Winners at regionals advance to nationals in Ocean City, Md.
