Norwich 92, Susquehanna Valley 91
NORWICH – Down by five points entering the last event, Norwich rallied for its fourth win in five meets this season taking first and third in the 400-yard freestyle relay to defeat the Sabers by one point Friday night.
Scott Cihocki, Curtis Woodard, Talon Schroeder, and Lucas Follett easily claimed victory in the last event, but it was the third-place finish of Joe Stagliano, Jordan Osterhout, Dan Zieno, and Greg Todd that catapulted the Tornado to the win. “Sus Valley gave us a good run, but the team pulled together and gave us the win,” said Norwich coach Jon Aikins. “I’m proud of my swimmers. Their hard work is paying off.”
Schroeder, Todd, Follett, and Zieno all came through with individual wins, although SV was able to hang in the meet with narrow first-place finishes in the 100-yard backstroke (15 hundreths of a second) and 100-yard breaststroke (12 hundreths of a second) that preceded the final event.
