SPCA holds pizza party, trophy presentation for top Dog Walk fundraisers

NORWICH – The Chenango County SPCA on Thursday held a celebratory pizza party and trophy presentation for the top team – and individual – who participated in the local shelter’s first-ever Dog Walk – Did Anybody Say Walk? fundraiser.

The event, held in October in Weiler Park, brought together animal lovers from all over the county and state, including a number of SPCA canine “alumni,” who wore red ribbons bearing the message “Proudly adopted from the Chenango SPCA,” according to SPCA Director of Developments Sue Reymers.

The Dog Walk raised over $10,000 for homeless animals in Chenango County, she added.

Chenango Massage Therapy owner Jim Dennis took home the top individual trophy and said he was stunned by people’s generosity.
