Oxford 5, Greene 4

OXFORD – A defensive gem stopped a Greene rally in the sixth inning as Oxford held on for a one-run win, Monday night in the Otsenango Pony League.

Four Oxford errors in the sixth allowed Greene to close an early deficit to one run. Oxford second baseman, Joe Nelson, made a diving stop to end the inning and preserve the save for reliever Andrew Golden.

Oxford extended its lead with three runs in the fifth. Golden had an RBI triple and Jeff Lawton followed with an RBI double. Golden finished with three hits and Nate Head pitched four innings for the win. Head was lifted for Golden in the fifth after he was injured in a homeplate collision.
