SMITHVILLE New York State Police are investigating an alcohol-related incident in the Town of Smithville which left one young man dead and another charged with criminally negligent homicide over the weekend.
At around 3:30 a.m. Sunday, 20-year-old Philip J. Stacy of Greene fell from the back bumper of a Chevy Suburban while heading up a hill along Round Pond Road.
(He) was treated by members of the Greene and Smithville EMS and was ultimately pronounced deceased at the scene from injuries sustained in the fall, reported police Sunday afternoon.
