NORWICH – On Monday, April 5, at 7:30 p.m., the Monday Evening Musical Club will host Henry Drexler in a slide show, “Historical Musical Norwich.” Henry, besides being an artist of some fame in the area (he has a show, “Windmill Country,” running at the Gallery at the Council of the Arts through April 23), has a collection of hundreds of postcards from Norwich and Chenango County, which he has photographed onto slides. Many of these postcards date from the turn of the twentieth century, and depict a way of life that is now a distant memory. For instance, it was quite common at that time for each village and city to have its own opera house, as did Earlville, of course, but also Norwich and Oxford, among others.
