NEW BERLIN – Casey Mohrein and Mike Muller combined on a two-hitter for unbeaten Afton (5-0), and the Crimson Knights opened up a tight game with four runs in the fifth inning.

With two outs, Afton drew back-to-back walks in the fifth. Jake Arnold drove in the first two runs with a bloop single to right field making it 4-1.

Mohrein had eight strikeouts in the game, and he along with Muller totaled 11 whiffs and just one base on balls. “As soon as (Mohrein) got comfortable throwing his curveball over the plate, we were off balance and didn’t put good swings on the ball,” said UV coach Tom Locke.

Arnold and Corey Mohrein had two hits apiece.

Justin Peek had both of UV’s basehits.
