PLYMOUTH – The Chenango County Sheriff’s Office has arrested a 30-year-old man for allegedly having a dozen sexual encounters with a 16-year-old girl.
Shawn C. Cummings, 30, Plymouth, was arrested Tuesday and charged with third-degree rape (D felony), endangering the welfare of a child and criminal mischief, both misdemeanors.
The Sheriff’s Office said they began the investigation following a report made to the New York State Child Abuse Hotline. Police claim that Cummings, who was 29 at the time of the alleged incidents, had sexual intercourse with the teen “on at least 12 separate occasions between July 2007 and December 2007.”
