Greene 99, Delhi 81
GREENE – What once was a goal to aspire to – beating Delhi – has now become commonplace for the Trojans.
Greene made it 19 straight meet victories defeating its league nemesis Friday. The Bulldogs ruled the Midstate Athletic Conference for years until the Trojans assumed the top spot two seasons ago. “It was our third meet this week, and with the thousands of yards we’ve been putting in during practice I think it is starting to catch up to them,” said Greene coach Mike Platta. “That means we should have a pretty good taper for sectionals.”
Greene controlled nearly every event winning 10 of 12 on the evening. Samantha Clink and Lizzy Buhl had a pair of individual event wins, whiile Helen Zaengle and Katie Crowe also padded the first-place parade.
The Trojans (5-0, 8-0) are at Cooperstown tonight.
