What better a way to experience the arts than to have all of them an arm’s length away?

Whether it be visual, performing, culinary or textiles, virtually all art mediums are expected to be on hand this weekend for the 13th annual Colorscape Chenango Arts Festival in downtown Norwich.

Spanning both the East and West side parks, first-year executive director for the festival Lisa Iannello says Colorscape will cover just about every square foot of space for this year’s event.

From visual art to food to the entertainment line-up, Iannello says everything looks as though it is falling into place for the event. There are roughly 85 visual art exhibitors and 13 musical acts scheduled for the festival.

As the festival nears, Iannello says the finishing touches are being made and she has thoroughly enjoyed having more of an administrative role in the festival. Ianello served for three years on the cColorscape board before taking over the executive director’s role for Peggy Finnegan in January. Finnegan remains on the board and has since taken over heading the visual arts portion of the show.

Iannello says keeping the crowds coming back is the most important aspect of the festival. Attracting new vendors, entertainment and visual artists is also one of the board’s main goals.
