Benefit dinner & breakfast planned for Oxford resident

OXFORD – The community is urged to show their support over the weekend of Sept. 8 and 9, as there will be a two-part benefit event for John Lobdell, whom was recently diagnosed with colon cancer. St. Paul’s Episcopal Dinner Committee will be sponsoring a benefit dinner and the Oxford American Legion will be providing a benefit breakfast. In addition to the dinner and breakfast, there will be eight gift baskets for raffle.

St. Paul’s Episcopal Dinner Committee will be sponsoring a benefit dinner on Saturday, Sept. 8, from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. The dinner will be held at the St. Paul’s Episcopal Parish House, 32 Main St., Oxford. The dinner will be extended from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m.



The menu will be Roast Beef, Garlic Mashed Potatoes (with gravy), Honey Buttered Baby Carrots, Lemon Butter Broccoli, French Salad, Rolls, Beverage, and Chocolate Éclair Dessert. Adults are $6; children 6-12 yrs., $4; and children under 6 free!

The St. Paul’s Episcopal Dinner Committee (Joan Bradley, Charles McMullen, and Bonnie Emerson) are very proud of the outreach these benefit dinners provide to help others. To name a few programs St. Paul’s Episcopal Church benefit dinners have helped, they are: the Oxford Girl Scouts, Chenango United Way, SPCA, Oxford Varsity Wrestling Team, Mark Samson Scholarship Fund, Habitat for Humanity of Chenango County, Transitional Housing of OFC, Relay for Life, and many local causes.

The following day, Sunday, Sept. 9, the Oxford American Legion Post #376, located at 17 South Washington Avenue, will help by providing a benefit breakfast from 7:30 am to 11 am. Their Community Breakfast is an ‘all-you-can-eat’, offering pancakes, sausage, eggs, home fries, French toast, OJ & tea/coffee. All for $5 -adults; senior citizens, $4; children 7-12 yrs., $3; under 6 free!
