AIM Fitness:

• The new 18,000 square foot fitness and day care center is projected to open next month in the North Plaza mall north of the city of Norwich.

• The facility will offer spinning, aerobic, yoga and other exercise classes in addition to Life Fitness and Hammerstrength weight machines and equipment.

• Customers may take advantage of day care services while working out.

• The Long Island-based owner said he anticipates needing up to 25 employees.

• Curves for Women relocated from the North Plaza mall to a new location at 21 South Broad St. last week. According to Manager Melissa Lapadula, the main reason for the move was to be closer to down town.

I think this is great for Norwich. I grew up there and currently live in the Syracuse area. I own two fitness centers myself and also do some consulting in the commercial fitness industry. Does anyone know who the owner(s) is (are)? Good luck to whoever it is - it's a tough business, but very rewarding.
