Cincinnatus man charged in infant's death

A Cincinnatus man has been charged with manslaughter in the death of a 16-month-old boy. The Chenango County Sheriff’s Department has arrested Jason Sherman, 24, for first degree manslaughter and assault in connection with the death of a 16-month-old child, Marshal Lee Barber, on Nov. 10, 2006.

Investigators say Sherman, who was the live-in boyfriend of the child’s mother, killed the infant by striking him, apparently in an attempt to discipline the toddler. The assault caused a lethal blunt head trauma to the infant, who died hours later. Police also said they suspect a longer history of abuse.

Good comment mattvsmith and i hope you meant dood like in doody cause dude is usually a respectful way to address a male person. I recall a case like this from sherburne about 20 years ago,and the lowlife has come up for parole a few times and it terrifies the mom and sister who lost son and brother that someday he could get out. The courts need to throw away the key on those who kill children like they do for those who kill cops. Lets hope the judge/jury are parents.

Convicts hate other convicts who hurt children.

This dood is going to die in prison.
