AFTON – Greene won for the 16th time in 17 matches this season ending Afton’s unbeaten run in a convincing, 25-12, 25-15, 25-15 sweep of the Crimson Knights Saturday afternoon.
“All three games we had great starts to keep the momentum going,” said Greene coach Michelle Schieve. “We played great defense staying ready for tips and hits.”
Jamiel Daniels served the match’s first five points setting the tone for the rest of the day. Daniels led with 15 assists, Megan Boeltz added 13 kills and seven blocks, and Daniels added four aces. Beth Ludwig and Paige Vermaat contributed five kills apiece.
Greene will play Unatego Saturday Feb. 17 at Unadilla Valley High School for the Class B championship.
