Pharsalia expands it fire and rescue capabilities

PHARSALIA – The Pharsalia Fire Company has purchased a used fire-rescue truck from an Oneonta Ford dealer. The truck will mainly be used for rescue operations. Fire Chief Ron Beckwith said, “We’re glad we have the truck. We needed one to help the rescue squad that we’ve recently started.”

The truck is a 1999, four wheel drive, Ford 350. The department is considering placing a 300 gallon water tank on the back of the truck, so it could also assist in fire fighting. “We hope to be able to use it for brush fires,” said Beckwith.
