Police still following leads in apartment complex shooting

NORWICH – City police are still investigating an incident of shots being fired into a Norwich apartment complex on Columbus Day. On Oct. 9, there were reports of a shooting at the Plank Road Manor Apartments located on Plymouth Street, near the city line. Two rounds of an unidentified firearm were fired into the apartments. The bullets penetrated into living areas, but no one was injured.

“The incident was not reported to us until later in the day. That’s when we began our investigation. Luckily, no one was injured,” said Norwich City Police Chief Joseph Angelino.

“We are actively following all leads. We’re conducting interviews, but it can be difficult to investigate. People may be intimidated by this type of crime and they may not be as forthcoming with information,” said Angelino.
