Gunshots fired at Norwich apartment complex

NORWICH – Gunshots rang out early Sunday morning in the City of Norwich. At least two rounds of an unidentified firearm were fired into the Plank Road Manor Apartments on Plymouth Street, near the city line. The bullets penetrated into living areas, but no one was injured.

“The incident was not reported to us until later in the day. That’s when we began our investigation. Luckily, no one was injured,” Police Chief Joseph Angelino said.

Police did not wish to identify which apartments were targeted, but did say the two separate occupied apartments had been fired at. The Norwich PD recovered at least two bullets from inside the apartments. Police did not wish to release the specifics about the type of firearm used.
