Norwich band takes second at Oswego

NORWICH – A total of 13 field bands gathered in Oswego Saturday, for the 28th annual Pageant of Champions. The show is part of the NYS Field Band Conference.

There were 12 scored performances in addition to exhibition performance by the hosting school, the Oswego Buccaneers. Like last week, there were again schools scoring within just a few points of one another throughout the competition.



Winners in the large school, division three competition were Union-Endicott with 63.60 finishing second and Auburn in first with 69.15. The lone entry in small school division two was Johnson City, finishing with 63.65. In large school division two, Central Square walked away with second place earning 75.20 just behind Baldwinsville who took first with 75.30.

In small school division one, Phoenix earned 71.75 finishing in third place, Norwich placed second with 74.40 and Jordan-Elbridge took first, earning 75.35 – just .95 ahead of Norwich.
