NORWICH – One of the most sustainable sectors of long term employment in the United States that is projected to see continued growth are healthcare occupations. In a effort to peak interest in the field among the next generation of the workforce, UHS Chenango Memorial Hospital is reaching out to middle school students who show enthusiasm in following a career path to healthcare occupations.
Students entering grades 8 and 9 this fall will have the opportunity to spend two days in the world of hospital healthcare this summer when UHS Chenango Memorial Hospital will host the M.A.S.H. Camp program on Tuesday, August 5 and Wednesday, August 6.
M.A.S.H. stands for Medical Academy of Science and Health. This two-day camp is sponsored by UHS Chenango Memorial Hospital and the Central New York Area Health Education Center (CNYAHEC). The two organizations have partnered on this initiative to address their mutual goal to help alleviate the shortage of health professionals by encouraging young people to explore health careers.
