Knights of Columbus organize

NORWICH – On the 41st anniversary of Roe v Wade, one of the most contentious Supreme Court hearings in American history, hundreds of thousands of pro life activists from around the country will orgnize a series of peaceful protests on Capital Hill during the annual March for Life.

Since the ruling of Roe v Wade made abortion legal in the United States in 1973, millions have walked in the March for Life in protest of abortion and related legislation. Although the outcome of Roe V Wades still stands, the goal is to one day overturn the court’s ruling, said Norwich Knights of Columbus Grand Knight Jim Reynolds, and give millions a chance at life.

On Jan. 21, the local chapter of the Knights of Columbus will sponsor a one-day bus trip for anyone wishing to be part of the movement. The bus will leave from the St. Batholomew’s Catholic Church parking lot for Washington D.C. at 11 p.m. on Tuesday before arriving on the National Mall for the March for Life. It will return to Norwich at 11 p.m. on Wednesday.

“This is the 12th year we have had a bus go down from Norwich,” Reynolds said, adding the event each year is “a life changing experience.”
