Oxford Memorial Library Plans Annual Haunted House

Every autumn a frightening fever sweeps the across the country from its biggest cities to its smallest towns. It's the annual opening of eerie exhibitions: Haunted houses, creepy corn mazes and ghastly attractions of all shapes and sizes will be open for business and our cozy upstate New York villages and towns are no exception.

The Village of Oxford's Memorial Library has set the date for its annual Haunted House. The yearly attraction in its ninth year, and will start at 10 a.m. and run through 1 p.m. on this Saturday, Oct. 26 at the village Library, 8 Fort Hill Park.

Originally conceived by library clerk Autumn Markowsky, the main attraction is a dark and startling labyrinth up the winding spooky staircase flooded with black lights and spiderwebs. Fueled by her sheer love of all things Halloween, Markowsky spends weeks preparing and decorating the maze as well as the rest of the Library's grounds.
