UHS Orthopedics opens new clinical space

NORWICH – UHS Orthopedics at 4 Newton Ave. in Norwich unveiled its new imaging equipment and expanded orthopedic clinical space at a ceremony Friday honoring several community organizations for their help with this project.

“These improvements in patient comfort, clinical services and imaging services are thanks to community support, for which we at UHS Chenango Memorial Hospital are very grateful,” stated Dr. Drake Lamen, hospital President and CEO.

He acknowledged the Shepherd’s Gift Foundation, Chobani Yogurt’s philanthropic foundation, for donating the resources to purchase new imaging equipment for the orthopedic practice. “With reduction in reimbursements for medical services and other financial pressures, our hospital cannot rely solely upon its own bottom line to continually improve and expand our technology and services. We are fortunate to have strong support from local organizations including those we are thanking here today. We extend our sincere thanks to The UHS Chenango Memorial Hospital Foundation; The Roger Follett Foundation; The Greater Norwich Foundation; The Elisabeth and George Mead Foundation; The Shepherd’s Gift Foundation; and The RC Smith Foundation. These are all strong organizations that lend their financial support to UHS Chenango Memorial Hospital so that we can continue to serve the health care needs of our community.”
