SMYRNA – The Smyrna Citizens Band will celebrate its 94th year of summer concerts at 7:30 tonight in the bandstand above the Smyrna Public Library.

As always, there will be a variety of selections for everyone's listening pleasure, said Smyrna Town Clerk Geraldine Day, including: “The Princess of India,” “Roumanian Rhapsody,” “Our Glorious Land,” “Gallant Men,” “Kiss Me, Kate,” “The Holy City,” “God Bless America,” “I Write the Songs/Mandy,” “Begin the Beguine,” “Fortune Teller,” “Fantasia on Dixie” and “Rhumba Numbah.”

Performances will continue to be held each Monday evening through Aug. 6. The program is made possible with public funds from the New York State Council on the Arts, which is administered by the Chenango County Council of the Arts, with support from Governor Andrew Cuomo and the state legislature. Refreshments will be provided by the Methodist Church and Ope's Dog Stop.

The band will also be performing a special patriotic concert from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. on July 4 at Paddleford Park, Sherburne. For more information, contact Geraldine Day at 627-6269.
