DVD Patrol

Here we are, Patrollers! The DVD Patrol has been busy shopping taking a look at some DVDS and the Toddster has been on a roll taking a look at even more movies. I got to see “Snow White and the Huntsman” this week. See the review later in the column and you’ll see what we mean. Time to see what they’re selling.

New on DVD

Safe House - Even good guys seem to go bad sometimes. Tobin Frost (Denzel Washington) was one of the best agents the CIA has working for them until he went rogue and started selling secrets to the higher bidder. Now he’s been caught and brought to Matt Weston (Ryan Reynolds) who runs a safe house that the CIA needs anytime they need something done. Matt is about to be put to the test after mercenaries break in and want to take Frost down. Matt tries to report to his superiors to let them know what’s happening but he’s not sure who to trust. The only thing he can do now is keep Frost alive long enough to find the truth. Will Matt find someone to trust or is the man who went bad the only one he can trust when it’s all said and done? Another great movie just out on DVD is “Act of Valor” that show what Navy Seals and actual military men have to do to keep our country safe. This movie has real active duty military personnel starring in it so see what you think.

Journey 2: The Mysterious Island - Going on a trip back to the same place isn’t always a bad thing. Even different parts of it are interesting. Sean Anderson (Josh Hutcherson) always liked a good mystery and he receives a signal from someplace in the pacific that his maps say there is no island. He manages to convince his stepdad Hank (Dwayne Johnson) to take him on a trip to find something where there shouldn’t be. Ellisting the aid of a wild helicopter pilot (Luiz Guzman) and his daughter Kailani (Vanessa Hudgens). They lose their ride but find the strange island and the source of the mysterious signal with Sean’s Grandfather (Micheal Caine) waiting for them. Are they going to find a way back home? Johnson will be seen in “GI Joe: Retaliation” coming out in March 2013. The release date changed but those things happened. Hutcherson will be seen in the sequel to “The Hunger Games” sometime in 2013 and the first one will released later this Summer on DVD August 18. Caine will be in “The Dark Knight Rises” in theaters July 20
