Hey, Patrollers! The Toddster thought he would take a page or two from the playbooks of the folks at ESPN and bring some movies to your attention that are coming to theaters for the year. Sorry for the Patriots pick last week, but I live with a Patriots fan and football can be taken to the extreme. That’s all we’ll say about that. What do you say we take a look at the Toddster’s predictions and see if there are a few coming out this year you might like. Remember, always go and check out the movies for yourself. I always tell people this. And our picks are:
Safe (April 29): Things change for people every day. For Luke Wright (Jason Statham), this couldn’t be more true. Luke worked in New York as a fighter and his life changed forever when he wouldn’t throw a fight. The Russian mob kills his family and takes everything from him. Some time later, while Luke is training, he discovers a young Chinese girl who is on the run from the Russians as well as the Triads and NYPD who holds the key to a code that will unlock some important facts that no one wants known. Luke decides to protect her and hope no one gets in his way. Will Luke be able to keep her safe?
The Avengers (May 4): Most of the time heroes like to work alone, but more often than not threats come up where a group is needed. Shield commander General Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson) thought of this and has assembled the biggest and baddest group of heroes that the world has ever seen. Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.), Thor (Chris Hemsworth), Captain America (Chris Evans), and the Hulk (Mark Ruffalo) along with Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner) and the Black Widow. Thor’s brother Loki (Tom Huddleston) has set his eyes on taking over the Earth along with an alien race that has put Earth on their radar too. Only the team has any hope of stopping them. Each of the heroes have their own ideas of how doing this should be done. Will the team be able to put their egos aside to save the Earth?
