Rio - Some changes in life aren’t what you always expect. Cartoon Spotlight turns the light on Blu (Jesse Eisenberg). Blu always had the best of everything when he was found. Also, it was always thought Blu may be the last of his kind. Then, Blu’s owner hears of a bird named Jewel (Anne Hathaway) in South America who might be able to repopulate the species with Blu. After Blu and his owner reach South America, some thieves break in and steal the two birds. During the rush, the birds escape and it becomes a race to get them back but Jewel is determined along with Blu to stay free. Will they be able to? Eisenberg’s next project has a bomb strapped to his chest and he asks his friend (Aziz Asari) to help him in “30 Seconds or Less” in theaters coming soon.
Soul Surfer - When you lose something, sometimes you might find something else instead. Based on a true story, Bethany Franklin (AnnaSophia Robb) was just starting her surfing career and already on her way to establishing herself. During an early morning exercise, Bethany is attacked by a tiger shark that takes away her left arm. She is rushed to the hospital and losing something so important she thinks it’s the end of her surfing days. With the help of her parents (Dennis Quaid and Helen Hunt) and a youth counselor (Carrie Underwood), Bethany might be able to find the strength to keep going. Will she be able to figure out another way to compete and find what she can on the road back? Robb can be seen in some other interesting DVDs selected from the vaults in including “Jumper,” “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory” (with Johnny Depp), and “Race to Witch Mountain” (starring Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson) available in stores now.
