DVD Patrol: Superhero Pantheon

There are a lot of years that stick out in people’s minds. Such as when that special someone was born, when some big event happened, or even when something started that everyone will remember. For me, I always remember the year 1961. I was born 10 years after it (Now I’m really showing my age) but this was the year that Marvel Comics started to get going. This started the ball rolling with “The Fantastic Four” created by Comic Legends Stan Lee and Jack Kirby who created more comics such as “The Incredible Hulk,” “X-Men,” and a whole lot more. Even further down the road, movie studios started to notice that these great characters just might make Good movies and this is what has been happening over the last few years. This year has been having “Thor,” “X-Men: First Class, and now “Captain America: The First Avenger” has been released. Now we have to wait until next year for “The Avengers” with all of our heroes on this great team. The Toddster has put together his favorites with a special “Toddster’s Take” on the Captain.

Spider Man - Some people have a way of falling into something they don’t expect. Peter Parker (Tobey Mcguire) went on a science field trip with his friends Harry Osborn (James Franco) and Mary Jane Watson (Kirsten Dunst). Peter had always had a soft spot for Mary Jane but didn’t let her know it. Harry tried to encourage him to pursue it. The lab they were touring had a lot of interesting specimens including spiders they were doing research with and one of them got loose. When Peter wasn’t looking, one cam down and bit Peter. The next thing Peter knows he’s able to jump high, crawl up walls, and became quite strong. Harry’s Father Norman (Willam Dafoe) was doing research too with a new strength formula that had an unusual effect on him and made him dangerous. Some time later, Peter has made a few choices that he regrets. One of them being the loss of his Uncle Ben (Cliff Robertson). Peter decides to use his new power to help people and that makes Norman notice him. He goes after Mary Jane and his family. Will Peter be able to use his new power to stop him?
