Softball

Oxford 14, Unatego 4

OXFORD – Oxford rebounded from its second loss of the season with its third double-digit scoring performance of the season on Thursday afternoon.

Julie Heggie hit a three-run homer in the third inning finishing 2-for-3 with five RBI and three stolen bases. Lacey Barry had three hits, three stolen bases, and four runs scored, while Jackie Heggie pitched five innings of relief striking out nine and walking just one for the win.

"We just need to keep the bats alive, no matter who the pitcher is," said Oxford coach Margo Barrows. "(On defense), when they had runners on base, we made the plays we needed to make."

Ashley Mannina had two hits for Unatego in the loss.
