Greene 1, Maine-Endwell 0

GREENE – In a matchup of returning Section IV champions, Greene remained unbeaten on the season edging Maine-Endwell.

Erin Smith scored for the Trojans (5-0) with 3:28 left in the first half. She took a pass on a penalty corner from Jahna Driscoll, pulled the ball left to avoid an M-E defender, and blasted a hard shot that nicked off a Spartans defender into the goal.

“I thought we played very well under pressure today,” said Greene coach Sue Carlin. “They gave us a good test, and we weathered the storm. Our defense came up big when we needed it.”
