OV Rallies Over Madison

Otselic Valley 6, Madison 5

SOUTH OTSELIC – Playing its fourth one-run game of the season, OV rallied over the final three innings to secure its first win in a tight game, and likely earn a Section III postseason bid in the process.

The Vikings scored two runs in the bottom of the seventh to tie the game at 5-5. In the eighth. Brian Manwarren and David Cerasani had basehits, and Brad Wentworth drove in Manwarren with the game-winning run.

Cerasani went 3-for-5 for OV (9-5), and Trevor Marston drove in two runs. The Vikings held tight on defense in the eighth turning an around-the-horn double play to thwart a Madison scoring threat.

“We had to battle back in this game, and battle back we did,” said OV coach Dave Loomis.

G-MU 8, Laurens 2

LAURENS – G-MU finished division play with a 9-1 record, and will meet Edmeston Friday at Morris High School in a playoff for the Tri-Valley League division one title.

Tyler Wildfeir extended his perfect record on the mound to 7-0 allowing two hits. He struck out eight and walked just one.
