SOUTH OTSELIC – Playing its fourth one-run game of the season, OV rallied over the final three innings to secure its first win in a tight game, and likely earn a Section III postseason bid in the process.

The Vikings scored two runs in the bottom of the seventh to tie the game at 5-5. In the eighth. Brian Manwarren and David Cerasani had basehits, and Brad Wentworth drove in Manwarren with the game-winning run.

Cerasani went 3-for-5 for OV (9-5), and Trevor Marston drove in two runs. The Vikings held tight on defense in the eighth turning an around-the-horn double play to thwart a Madison scoring threat.

“We had to battle back in this game, and battle back we did,” said OV coach Dave Loomis.
