G-MU 45, Morris 38
MORRIS – G-MU earned its first Tri-Valley League division win of the season Monday night getting a big offensive performance from senior Cody Hall.
Hall scored 21 of his 27 points after halftime on 9-for-10 shooting, and he added a team-high 11 boards. “He scored from all over, and they could not stop him,” said G-MU coach Bill Hartman of Hall.
G-MU did not have scoring balance, but a collective defensive effort limited Morris’ leading scorers, Eric Smith and Matt Conroe, to 15 combined points. “We had them pretty well scouted, and the kids understood what we wanted to do defensively,” Hartman said.
G-MU (1-2, 2-5) plays Otselic Valley Friday at 6:30 p.m. in the DeRuyter Tournament.
