Norwich, Point fit to be tied

Boys’ Soccer

Norwich 0, Whitney Point 0

NORWICH – In a battle of winless teams Thursday, Norwich and Whitney Point failed to solve the goal-scoring riddle in a scoreless tie Thursday on Norwich’s turf field.

The Tornado had the game’s best scoring opportunity drawing a penalty kick at 34:15 of the first half. Whitney Point keeper, Jake Keenan, guessed right and saved the shot attempt of Norwich junior Jason Woodard. “We had the better of the play in the first half, but our shots were not of great quality,” said Norwich coach John McCumiskey. “They had a few more chances in overtime, and in the long run, the tie is probably a justified ending.”
