NORWICH – Four individuals will be arraigned June 30 for an array of driving offenses after being indicted by a Chenango grand jury Wednesday.
Fred A. Clarkson will face a three-part indictment including first degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, a Class E felony; a count of driving while intoxicated; and operating a motor vehicle while allegedly having a blood alcohol content of .08 percent or more, another class E felony. The charges brought against him follow an incident that allegedly occurred on May 24 in the Town of McDonough.
It is alleged that Clarkson was driving on a suspended or revoked license and was operating a motor vehicle with a blood alcohol content of .14 percent, as shown on a chemical analysis. The indictment stated that the defendant was observed swaying as he walked, his speech was slurred, he had bloodshot eyes and there was a strong smell of alcohol on his breath. The defendant has a prior DWI conviction in Cortland County.
Lisa M. Davies is charged on a two-part indictment including first degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, a class E felony, and driving while her ability was impaired by drugs, also a class E felony. It is alleged that Davies was pulled over at 4 p.m. on April 19 in the Village of Oxford where she was found to be driving with a suspended or revoked license and allegedly under the influence of drugs. The indictment alleges Davies failed a field sobriety test. She has a previous charge in the Town of Norwich for driving while her ability was impaired by drugs in 2006.
