Oxford-Norwich beats Oneonta in weekend split of American Legion games

NORWICH – Oxford-Norwich Post 376 split its first two American Legion contests defeating Oneonta 12-3 in its opener before losing to Cherry Valley-Springfield 14-9 on Sunday.

Mike Moon went 4-for-5 with two doubles and six RBI in the win over Oneonta to support winning pitcher Christian Hotaling. Hotaling gave up three unearned runs over the first two innings and did not walk a batter in a complete-game victory.



Robert Amor had two RBI, Tim Clark finished with two hits and two RBI, while Paddy Law and Hotaling finished with three runs scored for O-N.

CV-Springfield scored nine runs in the seventh inning to rally past Oxford-Norwich.

Moon had a perfect day at the plate (4-for-4) driving in two runs. Amor added a 3-for-4 effort driving in two runs.

Oxford-Norwich is at Walton tonight, and hosts Greene/Afton on Wednesday and Sidney on Thursday at 6 p.m. at Norwich High School.
