Bird Club presents “Birder Undercover”

SHERBURNE – The Chenango Bird Club presents “Birder Undercover: An Ornithological Yankee in the Civil War South” at Rogers Environmental Education Center on Wednesday, April 9 at 7 p.m. The program will highlight Alexander Milton Ross’ efforts in sharing information about the Underground Railroad with slaves on southern plantations. How does this pertain to our Bird Club? Ross disguised himself as a traveling birdwatcher. The program wil be presented by Rick Wright, now the Managing Director of WINGS, a worldwide birding tour group. Rick is a widely published writer, a popular lecturer at birding events, and an enthusiastic tour leader in Europe and North America.

Following refreshments, the bird club will hold a brief business meeting. Program attendees are welcome to stay for all or part of the evening activities.
