Greene man indicted for attempted murder

PITCHER – A Greene man has been indicted for attempted murder after he allegedly injured a woman and tried to kill a man by running him over with his pick-up truck, seriously injuring him as well.

Shawn A. Vanderbunt, 44, of Greene, has been charged with several violent felonies, including second degree attempted murder.

The New York State Troopers said they responded to a call in January along Cook Road in the Town of Pitcher and discovered the 21-year-old victim, Jamie M. Brown. He was taken to Chenango Memorial Hospital and was found to have broken pelvis along with several other minor injuries.

Another victim in the crime was Sabrina Chordas, who allegedly took refuge from Vanderbunt in her own vehicle, a Plymouth Voyager van. Prosecutors say Vanderbunt “intentionally struck the van” with his pick-up while Chordas was inside, causing over a $1,000 in damages.
