Bricks & Mortar Report

EDITOR’S NOTE: The Bricks & Mortar Report provides updates on major construction projects in Chenango County.

Dunkin’ Donuts:

• The Chenango County Planning and Development Department reported that the restaurant had recently applied for a building permit.

• A previously reported January groundbreaking date at the location on state Route 12 S. in the Town of Norwich has been postponed.

Peebles:

• March 13 is the target date for the grand opening of a Peebles clothing store on state Route 12 South in the Town of Norwich.

• The 14,500 square foot space, unoccupied since the early 1990s, is in between Plaza Lanes bowling alley and Verizon Wireless in the South Plaza, located south of the City of Norwich. The building’s exterior is near completion. Contractors expect to install interior lighting, shelving and other fixtures next week, according to a spokesperson. “The space was extensively renovated,” said Kim Bell, who represents Peebles’ parent company, Stage Stores, Inc.

Just visited the new Chinese restaurant in Oxford. I'd go out of my way to eat there if it weren't so close.

The new Chinese restaurant opened in Oxford today, and Donut World seems to be doing great business. I'll do my best to support them both.
