Wlasiuk trial set for March 3

NORWICH – Accused murderer Peter M. Wlasiuk will face a Chenango County jury for a second time when his re-trial begins in March.

On Tuesday, acting County Court Judge Martin E. Smith scheduled Wlasiuk’s second murder trial to start at 9:30 a.m. on March 3.

Wlasiuk’s original conviction was overturned on appeal in August, 2006. This is the third time the court has scheduled jury selection; previous dates were altered due to the defense requiring additional time, and due to the dismissal of Wlasiuk’s original indictment.

Wlasiuk, 38, is charged with the second degree murder for the death of his wife Patricia Wlasiuk, whose body was pulled from Guilford Lake on April 3, 2002. The couple had lived on New Virginia Road in Oxford and police arrested Wlasiuk on April 8, 2002. He was later found guilty of second degree murder by a jury. Judge W. Howard Sullivan sentenced Wlasiuk to 25 years to life on Jan. 3, 2003.

Is this justice???
This is a horror that will never end for the family of Patricia. Peter is fighting so hard to try & prove his innocents to overcome his inner demons. Patricia is not with her family today due to his demons, it was proven in court in 2003. But Oh,
wait a minute Peter gets to keep this going over & over & for years & years due to the lovely laws that protect the perpetrator not the VICTIM nor the family! I hope this will be the last time this man will have all the rights.
