Sherburne woman publishes first children’s book

SHERBURNE – Writing was always a dream for Lynn Morris. Since she was a child of 12, she dreamed about being a published author. Now, years later, with the publication of her first book “Don’t Eat Your Broccoli!” Morris has achieved that goal, and this weekend she will hold a book signing at First Edition in Norwich.

Morris, a busy mother, says she wrote the book in pieces. She would write a sentence or two at different times, while waiting to pick her kids up from school or during practice. After the course of an entire school year, the book had been created.

“Don’t Eat Your Broccoli” is a story about a young girl who does not want to eat her vegetables, but after hearing her older sister tell her not to, her ideas begin to change.

“I got the idea from my kids,” Morris said. “Kids are funny. You tell them not to do something, and suddenly they really want to do it.”
