Colorscape: It's all about the art

NORWICH – From the aspiring artist to the professional designers, painters, sculptors and more, visual arts in various mediums can be seen decorating East and West side parks downtown this weekend.

During the annual Colorscape Chenango fine arts festival, anything from hand made jewelry to glass blowing to wood carving and sculpting can be seen on display, being made, and for sale.

Roughly 89 artists are expected for the 13th annual Colorscape Chenango which on average draws in 14,000 to 16,000 people from all over the region. Increasing from 85 vendors last year and 80 the year before, it seems the event is continuing to expand year to year.

Local, regional and national artists are drawn to the event and Colorscape visual arts coordinator Peggy Finnegan says the show brings in more artists year to year. “The show gets better every year,” she said.
