OV reaches out to public with town hall meetings

SOUTH OTSELIC – In an attempt to enhance communications between school administrators and community members, Otselic Valley Superintendent Lawrence Thomas will introduce a series of town hall style meetings for the 2007/2008 school year.

According to the district, the meetings will give community members a chance to meet with administrators, discuss areas of interest and get answers to specific questions regarding policies, practices and plans for the future.

In order to accommodate as many people as possible, there will be both morning and evening meetings alternating between the Georgetown Elementary School and the South Otselic High School.

Morning meetings, which will be called “The Rumor Mill,” will begin at 9 a.m. on the second Wednesday of every month, beginning on Sept. 12. Evening meetings, titled “Supe’s On,” will begin at 5 p.m. on the fourth Tuesday of every month, kicking off on Sept. 25. The sessions, which will last for approximately one hour, will begin with 10 to 15 minutes of informal conversation, before moving to a town-hall question and answer format.
