NORWICH – Maria Stamatatos, the owner of Gus’ Steakhouse in Norwich, wants to see more people support community organizations. That’s why she’s decided to hold a raffle this weekend, with proceeds going to benefit the Crime Victims Program at Catholic Charities.
“I believe that fundraisers are wonderful. We need to give back to community organizations that give so much to the community,” Stamatatos said. The Crime Victims Program is one of those organizations.
“The Crime Victims Program serves victims of domestic violence, rape, sexual assault, child abuse and violent crime. The services are not needed by everybody, but when you do need them, it’s a desperate time. That’s what makes the program so critical,” said Crime Victim’s Advocate Derek Stratton.
